Frame Grab Privacy Policy
Last updated 19 October 2026
Frame Grab (“the App”) is developed by Darryl Cauldwell.
Data Collection
The App does not collect, store or transmit any personal data. It has no permission to use the network at all, so nothing in your Photos library can leave your Mac through it.
Your Photos Library
The App asks for access to your Photos library so it can list your videos, play the one you open, and add the frames you choose to save. It reads videos only to show them to you, and the only change it ever makes to your library is adding a new photo when you save a frame. It never edits or deletes anything already there.
A saved frame is given the date and time that frame was filmed and, if the video has one, the video’s location, so it sits beside its video in your library. That information is copied from the video on your Mac; it is not looked up anywhere.
If your library keeps its originals in iCloud, macOS may download a video from iCloud when you open it. That download is made by Photos on your Mac, under your iCloud settings, not by the App.
The Sample Video
The App includes a short sample video so you can try it without a library. It contains no location or other information about where or when it was filmed.
Analytics and Tracking
The App contains no analytics, advertising, tracking or crash-reporting code. If you have chosen in macOS to share crash data with app developers, Apple may pass crash reports to the developer; that is controlled by your Mac’s settings, not by the App.
Third-Party Services
The App does not communicate with any third-party services or APIs.
